Flat rate for R & R of the top shaft gears is a 17.8 hours. BUT that does not include any bearing replacement which requires adjustment with shims. Main shaft and/or bearing replacement bumps that up to 21.8 hours. If you replace any of the bearings on the axles or final drives that also increases the time because of needing to adjust the bearings. Washing and any extra items on the tractor also add to the time. The 30 hour figure may be realistic for someone somewhat familiar with the tractor. If they have never done the job before doubling the flat rate time may be closer to the actual time it is going to take.
In your original post on this thread you called it the reverse drive gear. I think the replies you got all addressed the reverse driven gear on the top shaft. If it is indeed the reverse drive gear on the reverse idler shaft the time would be much less. That only requires a split between the clutch housing and rear frame.
A reverse gear with a few teeth knocked out by the park lock may be run a long time without problems as long as it isn't missing two consecutive teeth. Just be careful backing up not to put too much load on the tractor.
