Charlie is correct. 53 stage II SM had live hydraulics (all ms can have it retrofitted in several ways) yours is probably a belly pump. If it has oil in it, and the drive shaft from the trans to the pump is installed, and the pump is OK, pulling the lever will get oil everywhere. all the ports are pressure with rod out, hold with rod at the stop tang, and lower with the rod pushed in. the front two ports are normal and connected together inside with effectively a "T". The left rear port is a delay action port, and unless you are using a tillage tool that uses it chould be Plugged. See Many posts on this topic. Jim
