Thanks for the information. The pump is a belly pump (located near the clutch housing). I obviously did not know much about the live-hydraulics but do recall conversations about the subject with my dad (maybe we were talking about live PTO instead). There is no pump near the distributor. - so much to learn but very enjoyable.
The next time I go to the farm (a week or so) I'll post some pictures of it. Grandpa had quite a bit of plumbing added (for cultivator, mower, loader, etc.) that I'd like to clean it up a bit and make sure the open ports(?) are covered.
