On our farm in the 60s, we had them attached to the rear of the H and M 225 (I think) two row cultivators. They were slightly different. The tines should all be in a row, (some on yours are bent. The Prong on the end is (I believe) a push rod designed to gently assure no crop gets under/into the rake. They work at an angle, they are not perpendicular to the rows, nor in alignment, but fit between at a "Bias". As ours were for a different attachment, I recommend getting a manual, or parts description to be more well informed! Jim
