Dump in three to five gallon of extra hy tran and run the engine at around 1800-2000 and turn the wheel to the left. It should bleed out and pick up the prime . Your steering , brakes and T/A work off a different pump then the hitch. It is mounted on the MCV valve in the left side of the center section . If it plum refuses to pick up prime then it is really time for a new pump.
