I should have been more specific. The painter is one of the aircraft airframe mechanics in my squadron. He has painted jets and cars for years, and is willing to pitch in to help paint my tractor with me. We're talking about materials and such. I told him I didn't think the engine got hot enough, but he's thinking automotive engine, so there is probably a difference. So, he'll be happy to know the answer from here.
I was going to go with an out of the can silver for the manifold, but the more I think about it, the more I want to go with red. The heat shield is going to need high temp as well. Where I'm going to find a high temp red to match the DuPont paint we're going to use, I don't know.
