To remove the clutch from a WD9 you have to remove the fuel tank, belt pulley drive if you have one, air cleaner/fuel tank bracket, clutch/flywheel cover. You do not split. Every thing comes out the top. Best to get an IT manual it explaines the procces well. I have four W9's, I know the the job well. Good Luck.
