Mike--The letter series was mostly assembled when painted at the factory, not sure about the early 6 cyl tractors, which are more complex; I doubt if there was much off of them. My only point about this is that if you really want a good job, the tractor needs to be stripped and parts painted separately. I did a 460 HI-Utility that way. There was absolutely nothing left on the engine or chassis. Not saying I will ever do another one that way. With the letter series it is easy to take everything off. Moderate with the 300-450. Harder with the 60 series and next to impossible with anything larger, particularly diesels.
