The ignition timing is to be 22 degrees before top dead center with the engine running at full throttle. It should then retard to top dead center at low idle or very close to that if the distributor is in reasonable condition. There are several marks on the front pulley and I cannot remember how many off the top of my head. May be four or five. May be 40 , 30, 22, 16 and top dead center. Operator manual shows them, service manual does not. I could tell by looking at them but not from here. You can always measure pulley and determine degrees if you have to. Measure circumference, divide by 360, multiply that by 22 and you have the distance on pulley.
