Hi, Since it wouldn't start, I pulled the IH carb on my 2606 to clean it. Found a build up of rust inside the carb body with a collection around the main jet. I have it soaking in Berryman's now.
I'm just wondering how to keep the inside from rusting. It did it last summer as well and that was after I had acidized the tank again that spring. Having the usual rust in tank problems, I have acidized it a couple times. Last spring after the HCL acid bath, I added a phospheric acid and water mix to coat the tank. I didn't get all the phospheric acid drained out and some got in the carb and made it rust for the first time which I cleaned last summer.
These carbs are cast steel of some kind and they shouldn't normally rust, should they? Anyway is there anything I can coat it with before putting it back together again? Thanks.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
