Well, us "older" folk are also practical. The tractor is worth at least scrap price. Last I knew, those were around 5500 lbs. so, find out what #1 scrap is going for in your area, and start there. Fair is fair.
I also collect military firearms. I on occasion, have been asked to give appraisals on estates to family members. I often give them 3 prices. What a retailer with intent to resell will pay. What a collector will pay if they need it for their collection, and what I would pay if I were buying it.
9 times out of 10, my "what I would be willing to pay" is higher than retail resell, and lower than a "heck on wheels" collector. You would be surprised how many times I get a call back 6-8 weeks later to buy the rifle or pistol............but at no time EVER do I take advantage of someone who has asked me what a fair price is. What goes around comes around.............
