Not slower than the Slow gear set that was optional from IH. it was much slower than the normal 1st. It had a drive gear cut into the shaft of the lower ("lay") shaft on the trans instead of a keyed to the shaft gear. They are desirable for tractor pulls of some types, and other tasks like harvesting or slow cultivation. Setups were made to run hydraulic pumps from the engine driving larger displacement motors that powered the belt pulley drive gear. this allowed dramatic speed reduction "Creeper" but had no pulling power. The main clutch had to be blocked down to use it. Tobacco and transplanting vegatables was a factor in its use. The use of much smaller tires on 24" or 30 inch rims would slow one down, but reconfiguring the front to be level would be a task. Adapting Planetary gears from a later W series would be interesting, but not easy. Great question. Jim
