I disagree with Shawn to the extent that a straight weight oil should be used. If the engine is tight and you are not working the tractor too hard then 20W oil should be fine. If you are doing hard work such as plowing for long periods, then 30W is better. As far as detergent/non-detergent goes I run RPM Delo 30W in my 48 Super A with no adverse results. Delo is a very high detergent oil.
