On the SM, C for LP gas attachment standard altitude and N for LP gas 2500 feet up. Have saw a couple with no suffix on the engine and the engine was right to be original. Don't know if some failed to get stamped or a lucky engine switch. SMTA never had a code for LP that I know of. None was officialy made at farmall works, the ones sent from farmall to be converted usualy have a D or E suffix. They raised the comppresion with 5000 and 8000 feet altitude pistons.
