Thanks for the advice guys, but playing with the float level is one of the first things I tried. Went all the way down, no change. I'm beginning to believe the thing's haunted. God forbid, I might have to drag it to the shop. As for the grill, I was hoping to avoid fabbing one.If they are terribly expensive I will though. Here's one suggestion that might help someone else: If the original grill was glass, no sin in building one that way. If you have some experience in this type of work reasonable replacement parts can be made, especially if you don't have metal equipment. You basically build up in plywood and laminates, then encapsulate in fiberglass cloth and epoxy(modern composite boatbuilding on the farm) and then prime and paint. I have metal and glass eperience, so how I replace the grill will likely depend on what spare materials are lying around and what tools I can get to that day. Thanks.
