Dave,
Funny you should ask. I was born in Ann Arbor in 1944 while my father studied at U of MI. The tractor was bought by my Great Uncle at Goodall Tractor (or Goodrich, can't remember) a mile from my house in Tewksbury, MA. It had the large IH chimney that was required of dealers. I hung out there some and remembered the introduction of the 300/400. Dealership closed when I was about 11. Building started out as a blacksmith shop and is currently a drug store. A sign of the times.
There were probably 20 dealers within 50 miles. There are none today. One dealership was located on the second floor of an old textile mill building in Lawrence, MA. No inventory ever saw the light of day until sold.
