Note that there is a HUGE difference between a wire brush for a drill, and a wire brush in an angle grinder.
The angle grinder is almsot as good as sandblasting, it instantly strips whatever you touch to bare metal (though you can't get into the nooks and crannies, and it likes to jump and kick a lot)
A drill just isn't fast enough, and could be pretty frustrating.
The big angle grinder might be way more than you need.
Try it out, but I think you may find you're better off buying a smaller angle grinder.
I'd wire brush as much as I reasonably could with the angle grinder first, then use chemicals for the tight spots.
I'd also use more than goggles for wire brushing - a full face shield. You can find them pretty cheap if you don't have one. And I like using a respirator, god only knows what sort of lead and other toxins are in that old paint!
When using stripper - use a small wire brush to move it around once it's applied. Sometimes if you have a thick coating of stripper, it eats the paint and makes a sort of barrier, keeping the upper layer of fresh stripper from doing anything to the lower layers of paint.
Apply it, let it sit for a while, then wire brush it around, let it sit again - then wash.
