Awhile back I posted a message asking about a problem I was having with my new to me H lifting my haybine. Everyone was very helpful and we figured out the problem in short order. So now on to the new problem: Yesterday I was mowing hay and had done several acres when I engaged the hydraulics to lift the mower. It raised up just fine but fell right back down. When I looked at the liftall pump I could see that the gasket that seals the casting that the hyd. outlets thread into, to the liftall housing had blown out. This was a brand new gasket that I had made from gasket material that comes on a roll at parts stores. My question is could I have used matieral that was too thick? I also thought that since this is on the part that holds pressure when the system is engaged, is it possible that this gasket should bet metal? Any thoughts are much obliged.
