Well to rule out a defective gauge being and aftermarket go buy a real temp gauge IF you can find a good reliable one . And put that one in and see if that is the problem . I am loosing faith in everything ya buy anymore . No quality in anything . Use to be that if ya wanted a quality gauge ya got a Stewart and Warner gauge , now everything comes from China or India . as for me if i want a good gauge i go shopping in big truck junk yards and get old gauges out of OLD semi tractors. Along with switches and wire ends .
