IH didn't make a 506 in the USA, but it is possible that the tractors are imports from another country. You'll find all sorts of weird model numbers on foreign-built tractors... Like 1056 or 696 for example.
Even then, there may not be a 506.
These could very well be Frankentractors, built from parts of two or more different tractors. Some collectors will go to great lengths to make their creations look genuine.
506, could be a 504 rear end somehow joined to a 460 front end with the 504's hood stretched over the engine.
