I know that the authenticity cops would rake me over the coals on this one but ...
The gauges on my H where beyond any repair and just could not see spending 75 bux for a replica.
I replaced mine with the Sunpro mechanical gauge and they also includes a backlit display. I am still 6 volt and finding a 6 volt bulb is still possible. These gauges will fit right into the hole and work with no questions asked.
Maybe once I finish this restoration off finally I will sweat the details but my point being: These only cost 20 bux and worked great for me.
