when adjusting the valves you need to pay attention to the ware on the rocker arm as they do not ware even and there is always a little rocker arm hanging over the valve stem and when you stick the feeler gauge between the rocker arm and the valve stem you get a bridging and this will throw your set off and you will have a few loose ones . So go back over them again and look real close and you will see what is going on . Now IF you get it down and ya still have noise then you may have a guide issue . Also take a long handle screw driver and place the end against the block by each piston and put your ear to the handle and listen you may also be hearing piston slap .
