If it were me I would find a decent old M that doesn't run that you and your students can bring back to life as a stock tractor. When you start trying to build a pulling tractor you will run into money quick. It will be costly enough just building it back to stock. When you start trying to get a bunch of kids involved you are opening up a big can of worms not the least of which would be liability. Restore the tractor and perhaps do a big raffle to raise money to cover costs and give the tractor away to some lucky person. Any money left over use it to buy tools for the school shop or throw the kids a party. If you want to get involved in tractor pulling on your own then go for it. I would however leave the kids out of it. JMHO.
