A Woods, Lovejoy or whatever coupler needs to be between two "fixed" shafts, meaning it will not work if one or both ends floats like the pto shaft. Used a lot of several kinds building test machines for Cessna back in the day. Not familiar with your chipper, but if there isn't a shaft like that on your chipper, you will need to fab up some bearing mounted shafts. Woods will take a little angular mis-alignment, but not linear without wearing the rubber out... Lovejoy does not handle much of either without wearing the center web. Of course we were running ours faster than 540rpm.
