The transmission drain plug should be at the bottom front of the pumkin. The plug you mentioned is the fill plug. On the left side of the transmission housing, towards the back should be another small plug. This is the place where the fluid should come out when full. I have a 63 IHC Cub, but would think the above should apply to yours as well. Now for the fun part. I could not remove the drain plug on mine.... godzilla must have tightened mine. Tried everything but drilling it out and using an 'eazy-out' to remove it. Really didn't want to go to that much trouble. I removed the top fill plug, then put a bucket under the plug on the side, where excess fluid is suppose to run out. Then jackted up the right rear wheel, so the fluid would run out... then applied some air compressor pressure from the fill hole to force out most of the remaining fluid. A round about way, but it worked. According to the book, it uses 3 1/2 pints. I also used 90wt. Hope this helps.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
