Yes a plate can be bolted over the belt pulley gear box hole after the box is removed. This is a picture of one way to use the belly pump reservoir. M&W setup used a 3/4 pipe thread hole made in the lower front, at least on a lot of them. On this one the pump was removed from the reservoir and the pump drive hole in the plate pluged. There's other ways to do the setup also. Some just use the belley liftall drain for suction to pump. Only a 1/2 pipe thread opening though. Does the block have C281 on the side or just a C281 bore?
