First off, I very rarely take the coupler off while under the tractor, I remove the cage with the coupler, shaft, gear and bearings so you can repair it correctly. This requires removing the belt pulley attachment or delete cover so when you put it back together you don't ruin the pilot bearing. You will 95 percent of the time be glad you did it this way as you will find something else worn out. Then, when putting the coupler back on you can support the shaft the way it was intended to be done.
