Hey George, We have two 400's on our farm. Mine (which belonged to my dad, before he died) has a narrow front and my stepfathers has a wide front. Both work fine in the field. I prefer the narrow front mostly 'cause that's what I grew up with and what I'm used to. The wide front looks kind of weird to me on those big Farmalls, but it is more stable on hills. If you live in an area with a lot of hills you may want to think that. His also has power steering which is nice, especially when working with a loader. I've gotten a number of workouts over the years muscling the wheel around while using the loader since mine doesn't have PS (but that's alright mine has live PTO and a TA neither of which his has). I'd say it boils down to your personal preference, and if you want to make the effort to change it out. Others will probably tell you if it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's your call. Take care, Skeeter
