The gap 0.020 is correct.. there could be some corrosion on the mag, which could cause problms, the condenser may have gone bad, or even the coil may have gone bad.. Parts are still available, but they are expensive.. I think a rewound coil is about $125, points $35, and the condenser will need to be replaced with a capacitor.. the Splitdorfs are good mags, I have several, and all work excellent, so I would expect corroded points..
