I had posted yesterday about brake seal removal problems. It turns out the part I had punched into was not part of the bearing carrier, it was the "shell" of the original oil seal. I pulled it out today. I couldn't budge it with the slide hammer, I had to collapse it in with a chisel to finally get it. It had part# 48498D on the back, which is the old oil seal number. I've got one of the new seals from the IH dealer to put in.
