This may sound a silly suggestion, but why not just fit a 12 volt Delco generator? It will easily provide all the charge required for a tractor unless you have 150 watt halogen lights everywhere. Saves heaps of hassle. Just fit generator, regulator, change bulbs and forget about it after that.
