Carter and Grunewald is supposed to have mufflers made to the original specs in appearance and sound by early 2012. No muffler currently being sold has that sound. The ones by Mark's Tractors also had the sound but he is apparantly no longer in business. I have two of those. And the original mufflers and Mark's were straight through. I assume the new ones will be also. Quieter than an open exhaust, yes. But I lost most of my hearing by running an H for maybe 5000 hours with the original muffler in the 50's.
