I had a simular siuation with one of my 400s. It is why I still have a spare rear main housing sitting in the barn.
If one of those balls gets jammed between the bull gear and the housing, the housing will break. Many have been broken and most of them have been repaired. Not pretty and they might seep a little oil too. Steve
