Roosa's pump came out in 1947 and was first used in Hercules diesels in Oliver Cletrac crawlers in 1952. Around 1953, Continental started using them around 1954. Then Buda in 1956 (later bought by Allis Chalmers).
There are two Bosch rotary pumps. American Bosch (AMBAC) was being developed around the same time as Veron Roosa's pump. They were in competetion with each other . . at least with the smaller pumps. The Robert Bosch rotaries from Europe along with Lucas CAV, Rotodiesel, etc. were all built under license from Stanadyne. That began in 1953. They paid to utilize Roosa's basic design.
AMBAC became a separate company from the Robert Bosch company during, WWI when the US seized all their holding that were in the USA.
