Although it could be the coil overheating and opening up, I'd bet on plugged gas line. The best way to diagnose this kind of problem is to run the tractor until it quits, then check for fuel and spark. Fixing things at random, hoping to correct the problem, is not the way to approach a situation like this. Quite often, rust or dirt will partially plug the fuel line or filter. I've heard of dead bees floating around in the tank and plugging up the fuel line every few minutes.
