After a short process of elemination, new filters, new orings, and new hitch pump, an old IH mechanic showed up today and ran a pressure test, load test, flow test, and relief test. Brand new pump 4GPM, pressure 38psi. After the test he assured me of a serious internal leak, and showed me an easy way to find it. On the rear of the tractor where the top link for 3pt pins to the frame, you can take the two left bolts out of the pto housing that holds the pto lever linkage (3/4) socket, then remove the 6 bolts (15/16 socket) that hold the cast toplink plate on, and see inside majority of the rear housing. Started the tractor, pulled remote lever back, and oil blasted from top of housing to the bottom like a water faucet. He told me 9 out of 10 times, that can be done with gasket staying intact to the rear frame, and you can put the cover right back on after you have seen if thats the problem. I wanted to share this because had I known that prior to buying a new pump and a whole lot of hyd oil, I would have more money to fix the ACTUAL problem which will require pulling upper half of rearend housing off. He tells me most of the time the problem is as simple as bolts backed out, or an O-ring blown or gone. Thanks for your intrest and hope this may help someone down the road.......Matt
