Your additional information strongly suggests it is a C that has been upgraded with Super C decals. As D Slater indicated, your date codes are '48 and '49. The engine number, if present, would be stamped, not cast into the flat boss you located.
The inch and a half height increase in the grill was part of what changed from C to Super C. There were several small changes between the 2 models, many of which are obvious to the trained eye but are easily overlooked if you are not quite as familiar with the tractors. One relatively easy to see change was from band to disk type brakes.
