An 1141 would work, or an 1156. The former tend to last longer in higher vibration environments.
Truck stops often have 1156 LED replacements available, or search on-line.
I am still using the 6V (+ ground) on my SA, and it is working very well. Starts great even in the winter, charges to 7.2V, max, at anything over about 1000 RPM. I had it in mind to keep the 6V as long as it still works and the battery lasts, then consider changing to 12v. It's been going on the electrical system it came with for the past 6 years. Maybe in another 6 or so...
The bugaboo with most gen setups seems to be getting the regulator adjusted right and keeping the contacts cleaned on occasion - and yes, mine did take some tweaking of spring tensions and contact clearances to get it "right". It isn't rocket science, but it does take an understanding of how the regulator works and a bit of finesse.
