When I fixed my 806 last year, I re-bushed the pivots in the cover. (did it myself, I'm a machinist by trade) I found the weld broke on the pivot shaft for reverse, got a new one of those, new rollers for all the cam deals, and smoothed out the burrs and such on my cams. They were just fine, just filed off a few burrs. New spring. Luckily I had an aftermarket parts guy who was familiar and ordered all the parts he thought I'd need, so when I tore it apart all I had to do was fix the cover and slap it back together. I also re-bushed both of my handels at the same time. That job made the tractor shift so much better. That and a little patience while shifting.
By the way, I had to fix mine after I wound up with the same problem- shifted well into a foreward range, couldn't hit reverse anymore. Bad news while in the middle of the road plowing Snow! :^) Good Luck! -Andy
