So I ordered my new intake and exhaust manifold (aftermarket)for my 460 gasser. the new ones are pretty good except one thing. Put in the heat riser and if you take the gasket out prior putting together the heat riser works like it should. If you put the gasket in the flapper will pass the top casting mark and you can run the weight and heat riser flap from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock where she closes. I took them back apart and the casting stop for the heat riser flap (vertical) is not down enough to stop the heat riser flap at the 12 noon open position. Took to a weld shop for a bead to be welded on but he wont touch it cause its cast. He thought I should tack a little lip from the old riser flapper onto the new one but were talking adding weight to the end of the flap for only an 1/8 inch of metal. I'm wondering if I can drill and tap a hole in the top of the manifold all the way through and run a bolt down to act as a stopper for the vertical-cold position?
