I agree it is too high for a non-runner, however I also agree that he will probably keep if it he can't get $1,100 for it. Seems like everyone in IA knows tractor restoration is popular here and thinks any plain old H or M is rare and worth the price of gold, no matter the condition.
I picked up a '42 M this past summer in SE Iowa for $1100. It runs real good and has decent sheet metal. I have always said I would never pay more than a $1,000 for an H or an M just because there are soo many of them around, but this one had brand new front and rear tires and rear rims so I made an exception!
