I know there was some discussion on this not all that long ago, so I apologize, but I'm getting mixed answers on this matter.
My 1948 Super A has remnants of decals on the hood that say "mccormick deering", not just "mccormick".
The company I'm trying to buy stickers from tells me the following: ------------------------------------ The "Deering" was only used on the early Letter tractor, i.e., A, B, C, H, M. The later A, B, C, H, and M,s had the "Deering" dropped and evidentially the IH logo added. The "Deering was never used on the Supers. Someone must of combined some decal sets long ago. --------------------------------------
That conflicts with what others have written here in the past, AND what's on my hood.
Obviously the hood may have been replaced at some point, so it's not a sure thing...
BUT - my hood also has what I know is the proper "super A cultivision" stickers. So I KNOW it's not off an A.
And all sticker remnants look pretty damn original. Nobody put new stickers on there any time in the recent past. In fact they were painted over with what appears to be a very old coat of paint.
So I'm not sure if I can trust their answer.
Does anybody have a definite answer? Would the Guy Fay book cover this?

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
