actually the box the starter was in did have a hole in the the drive end of the box where the nose cone may have have gone through? But that box was in a much larger box stuffed with packing peanuts that was in good condition. I'll have to wait till monday to call the vendor. We dont really have a local rebuilder that I know of in the area that can deal with stuff this old, there is a shop about 40 miles away that I have used before, I could probably scrounge up enough parts for a rebuildable core if I dig through my junk...maybe. Just a hassle though, was hoping to have this project done with.
