If you just want simple reliable power that you can do minor work on yourself, an open station 1066 can't be beat. Just get a good set of ear muffs, a big hat, and some sunscreen.
One big downside to the 86 series is the cab makes all the control linkages more complex, and difficult to get to. It's relatively out in the open on a 66 series.
Frankly, I LIKE the left-handed shifters on the 86 series. That may be because I'm left-handed.
