Fuel Gauges first appear in the 400-450 parts book. They were probably manufactured by the same company that made domestic home heating oil tank guages. It has a float that rotates a rotary dial at the top of the cap. I was able to get a new one from somebody who bought a trailer full of NOS parts. I put it on my '40 H. Part # is 365 495 R92 plus or minus a couple of digits because they come in different lengths. They can be shortened easily. There is another style that does not appear in the parts book. It has a one inch tube about three inches long that is fixed to the fuel cap.
