if you want to use the h cover, its pretty easy to modify. the m+w live pump kits had instructions in there to do it. check fit your pump first to the cover. the bottom two bolts should line up correctly, the top two will be about 1/3 bolt diameter off center. remove the pump, run two bolts in the top holes, saw them off as flush as you can with the cover, then file them smooth. re-mount the pump, then go in with a drill bit that fits snug inside the pump mounting holes. drill just enough to mark the new centers of where the bolt will be. remove the pump, and drill new holes to accept the tap size. i think the bolts are 3/8 coarse thread. drill as deep as the old holes were, then tap the holes. the pump will now bolt right up. it is advisable to change the camshaft gear to the later style, it was a lot heavier gear. the early gear was thinner an had holes drilled in it. the old gear will fail with heavy hydraulic use.
