Ward has it correct. I had my wife turn the steering wheel back and forth as I pried up on the circle gear. Worked it right up and off. I got rid of my death wobble by grinding off 1/4" of the back of the worm gear, and making a 1/4" spacer to fit between the worm gear and the bearing; this set the worm gear 1/4" further back, and brought thicker teeth into play with the circle gear. Worked great for me. I still worry about fatigue cracking of this worm gear shaft, so try this at your own risk.
