I bought a '41 A a few months ago. It is Crank start. This has not been a problem. With it in tune, it starts right up with the crank. It's actually kinda cool! It's a little of a bummer if you kill it poppin the clutch ect, having to jump off an give it a crank. My '41 has all the mount points and holes in the bell housing, ect to mount a battery, stater, and all. It looks like it would be simple to set up. With ytmag.com, atis.net, and other forums with want ad's, it should be easy to find the parts. I kinda like the simplicity of mine though... That's why I bought the old tractor. If I want the bells and whistles I jump on my newer compact tractor.
