It is a small point, but my 1947 Farmall M has on old IH ammeter on it (20-0-20). On that instrument, the needles comes up through a crescent shaped slot and all the working is hidden. It is a very neat looking ammeter. I bought a new IH ammeter for my Farmall H and found that the face is made differently, with a large hole showing the base of the needle and its pivot. Are original ammeters available somewhere, so that I can indulge my pedantry for originality and relax with the right ammeter. I could change it over to the Australian standard, which is a Lucas BM-4 ammeter (30-0-30), but that means enlarging the hole to 2 & 1/8" and finding a very expensive ammeter.
