My 340 has always done that. It takes several seconds after a cold start for the oil to hit the pump. In very cold weather it will sometimes stall if I'm not quick enough on the throttle. I even run mine over full for the loader (IH 2000)
I have also noticed it getting starved on hillsides, like the pickup for the pump is not very deep in the sump. I have heard that is normal for this model. Is it?
